Wireless Broadband in Ipoh

Since i do not know how long it takes for Maxis Wired Broadband to be available, i decided to get a temporary wireless broadband.

Below is the wireless broadband provider that i came across:

P1 Wimax – No coverage at my area (Ulu Kinta)

Maxis

Pro: Cheap entry plan, free modem

Con: Limited usage, expensive price for higher usage volume

PS: My friend at Menglembu is using it,  the reply i got from him is that very slow, perhaps he exceed the quota.

Celcom

Pro: Free modem

Con: Expensive for unlimited plan, extra registration fee.

PS: My friend tried the RM98 plan at Ulu Kinta, got coverage, not very good signal, but can online.

Digi

Pro: Promotion rate of  RM88 per month for 10GB plan with free modem

Con: Tied 12 months in order to get the free modem, limited usage

U Mobile

Pro: Cheap, only RM68 per month for unlimited usage.

Con: No modem included

PS: My fried tried at Ulu Kinta also, saying that not bad.

After considered the usage volume and coverage, i decided to sign up u mobile package & purchase own modem.

PIKOM PC Fair 2009

Tomorrow is the 1st day of Pikom PC Fair for 2009 at Stadium Indera Mulia, Ipoh, Perak. It is a 3 days event from 3 - 5 April 2009 (11:00am – 9:00pm).

As usual, pendrive, laptops and net-books will be the mainstream.  I read from my E-commerce module and noticed that there are 3 types of consumer characteristics.

Impulse ->Make purchase with little analysis

Patient -> Make purchase after comparison

Analytical -> Conduct substansial research before purchase

So, pls do not rush for buying because of the price is cheap. Do some comparison of price/free gifts, do some home work before buying.

My target:

Get a 4GB pendrive

DVD media

Earth Hour 2009 – Vote Earth

62 countries including Malaysia have committed to participate in WWF’s Earth Hour in 2009. This will be the first time Malaysia officially takes part in Earth Hour and our Prime Minister, Dato’ Seri Abdullah bin Ahmad Badawi has indicated his support and endorsement of Malaysia’s participation.

2009 is a critical year in terms of the political decisions that will be made at global climate negotiations in December 2009. Earth Hour, aims to highlight the voice of the people of the world and represent a visual mandate for meaningful policy on climate change.

What we need to do is simple, just turn your lights off for an hour at below time and date:

Merdeka !!!

Today is Malaysia 50th national day.

Malaysian flag –> jalur gemilang

The 14 alternate red and white stripes of equal width represent the 13 states of Johor, Kedah, Kelantan, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor, Penang, Terengganu and the Federal Territory.

As depicted on the flag, red symbolises courage, while white indicates purity. The dark blue canton in the upper left quarter symbolises the unity of the Malaysian people. The crescent moon in the dark blue canton is the symbol of Islam, the official religion of Malaysia. The 14-pointed star stands for the unity of the 13 states and the Federal Government. The yellow of the crescent moon and star represents the royal colour of the Rulers.

I’m staying in Malaysia since I born… haha.. I’m proud to be a Malaysian.

My girlfriend and I spent the countdown in Jaya Jusco hypermarket. haha… Dunno why today Jusco extended their operation until 1am. We both went there and brought some breakfast… U cant imagine that the counters there all queued by customers….

Proton Persona

Finally, Proton launched their new car this year. ( I think to fight Perodua Viva… haha )

As u see the outlook, is just a sedan type of Proton Gen2 with slightly modification.

According to the above specs, i noticed that the acceleration from 0-100km/h is very funny. The base line type ( cheapest ) takes only 12secs, but the high line ( most expensive ) takes 14 secs… Dunno whether is because high line equipped with more accessories resulting heavier weight…

Prices:

Proton Persona 1.6AT H-Line Metallic – RM55,800
Proton Persona 1.6AT M-Line Metallic – RM52,800
Proton Persona 1.6MT M-Line Metallic – RM49,800
Proton Persona 1.6AT B-Line Metallic – RM48,449
Proton Persona 1.6AT B-Line Solid – RM47,999
Proton Persona 1.6MT B-Line Metallic – RM45,449
Proton Persona 1.6MT B-Line Solid – RM44,999

General speaking, the price of the car is cheaper compare to previous model such as Gen2 and Waja. How u think about this car? It is worth?
