USB 3.0
Published January 7th, 2008 in Hardwares Zones.Intel and a group of companies such as HP, Microsoft, NEC and Texas Instrument have begun to developing next generation of USB, which is USB3.0. USB 3.0 transfer speed will go to 4.8Gbps which is 10 times faster than current USB2.0 which is 480Mbps.

The new interconnect will remain backward compatible with USB 2.0 and prior devices, new cables laced with an optical link and a max length of 2-meters will be required to take advantage of those high speeds. The new 3.0 standard scheduled to be released on this year.
