Softwares needed in our PC ( Freewares )

For window user, we cannot escape from reformat our pc regularly… haha… Why ? Because after certain time of using, a lot of problem will arise, such as system slow, error code pop up, and etc… Although we can take time to solve all the problem, but the fastest and easier way is to reformat the hardisk, and install a fresh new OS.

After format and install OS and hardwares drivers, we come to the part of installing softwares or programs in our system. Even though i’m a home user, but i tend to use freewares rather than cracked sharewares. Why ? Because cracked sharewares are not safe, many contains virus, trojan, adwares and etc.

Here i will share with u guys some freewares that i often use in my system. Some of them might be only free for home user only, kindly take note. I will only stick to the compulsory one only… hehe. Below i listed down those freewares that i will install to my machine every time i reinstall my window.

TUGZip is a powerful award-winning freeware archiving utility for Windows® that provides support for a wide range of compressed, encoded and disc-image files, as well as very powerful features; all through an easy to use application interface and Windows Explorer integration.

Avast! 4 Home Edition is a full-featured antivirus package designed exclusively for home users and non-commercial use. I love this anti virus because once registered, u can use for a year. Then re-register again, extend for another year. So easy. Some more this anti virus consumes very less resources.

Foxit Reader is a free PDF document viewer and printer, with incredible small size (only 2.1 M download size), breezing-fast launch speed and amazingly rich feature set. Foxit Reader supports Windows 98/Me/2000/XP/2003/Vista. Its core function is compatible with PDF Standard 1.7.

OpenOffice.org is a multiplatform and multilingual office suite and an open-source project. This softwares is compatible with Microsoft Word, Excel & Power Point.

The K-Lite Mega Codec Pack is a free software bundle which includes the K-Lite Codec Pack Full and Real Alternative. Codec is short for Compressor-decompressor. Codecs are needed for encoding and decoding (playing) audio and video. With the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack you can play almost all audio and video files there are. It also has encoding support.

TTplayer is a very nice audio player for the Windows platform. Unfortunately, this freeware is designed by chinese, therefore is only suite chinese user because the interface is all in chinese. For english user, foobar2000 is also a nice audio player. I love TTplayer because when u play the audio file, it will automatically download the lyrics and displayed it like a karaoke.

The award-winning Web browser is now faster, more secure, and fully customizable to your online life. With Firefox 2, we’ve added powerful new features that make your online experience even better. I love to use firefox because it really more safer and faster compare to IE. But unfortunately not all website is supported. Some encrypted website like Maxis Mobile are not compatible. We cannot check out balance using firefox…

Mozilla’s Thunderbird 2 email application is more powerful than ever. It’s now even easier to organize, secure and customize your mail. Im not very sure how powerful is it, but compare to outlook, is more easier to setup.

Utorrent is the bt client im using. Bitcomet also not bad, but i found out that compare to utorrent, bitcomet take more memory when running. Other than that, Azureus also a popular bt client.

FileZilla Client is a fast and reliable cross-platform FTP, FTPS and SFTP client with lots of useful features and an intuitive interface. I just it to get upload file to my web space.
