Setup Thunderbird Email Client

To setup Thunderbird email client to automatic receive your email to your computer is pretty easy.

Once you download the software, install it into your PC and you can start using. Here i will show u how to setup Streamyx email account.

To setup email address, go to “tools”–> “Account Settings”–>”Add Account”

Choose “email account” and press “Next”. Then enter your name and email address and press “Next”.

Then u will reach below stage. Due to Streamyx is using POP incoming server, then u have to check “POP” and enter “mail.streamyx.com” incoming server tab.

Remember to uncheck the “Use Global Inbox” if you want to setup more than 1 email address.

After that u will proceed to enter “incoming user name” and “account name”.

Incoming user name = “testing@streamyx.com

Once finish, u will proceed to setup the SMTP for your Streamyx email account.

Under “account settings”–> “Outgoing server(SMTP)” –>”Add” to add Streamyx SMTP.

Server name = “smtp.streamyx.com”

Description is optional.

Check “username and password”, enter your username = “testing@streamyx.com”.

Finally, click your email address under “Account settings”, make sure the choose the correct SMTP for your email account if u are setting multiple email address.

PS: To setup email client, u need below 3 informations.

Email address, Username & Password, Incoming Server (POP) and Outgoing Server (SMTP).

    OK, Matthew…

What is the email address you’re trying to setup?
Not every email address can be setup as POP.
This is depends on the mail server your company is using.
Unless you are provided with POP3 and SMTP address but still couldnt receive mail.

    Dear LPR…

Make sure below items on SMTP setting are correct:

    server name: smtp.streamyx.com, port 25.
Tick the Security & Authentification, tick also username ( enter username: xxx@streamyx.com )& password.

Lastly make sure your Outgoing Server (SMTP ) for your account is pointed to the correct SMTP.

Thanks for your prompt replay Didi. There is no provision for entering the password in the smtp dialog box. Where do i enter the password for smtp. I am using Thunderbird version 1.5.0.13 (20070809).

    Thank You.

Try install the latest version which is 2.0.0.6. Streamyx require authentification on SMTP.
