10 Reasons Not to Upgrade to Window Vista

I came across an article write about the reasons not to upgrade to latest Window OS which is Vista. The reasons given are quite reliable.
1. Hardwares requirement high
To run smooth, user need at least 2GB memory with high speed processor. Some more if u want to use the “AeroGlass” effect, user have to equip with at least mid range graphic card.

2. Upgrade costing
Window Vista is much more expensive than Window XP
Windows Vista Ultimate $349/$199 ( Full version / upgrade version )
Windows Vista Business $269/179
Windows Vista Home Premium $239/$139
Windows Vista Home Basic $199/$99
3. Window XP still have plenty of room
After 5 years of continuous upgraded, Window XP become a mature OS with stability and compatibility. Some more Microsoft already promised will provide technical support or update to Window XP until year 2014.
4. System Compatibility issue
Due to Window Vista using a new system architecture, a lots of running softwares and drivers on Window XP are not supported. Such as ACDSee, Itunes, printer drivers and etc.
5. New Interface
Window Vista has a new outlook of system interface will is different with Window XP/2000/ME. User have to spend time to get use to the new outlook.
6. More energy consumption
To run Vista “Aero Glass” effect, additional power needed on hardwares such as processor and graphic card. Therefore a good power supply unit are necessary. For laptop, it will consumes extra energy resulting shorter battery lasting time.
7. Vista new features
Vista new features such as Aero Glass, Flip 3D, Sidebar and etc… All these visual effect need powerful system to run smoothly. For normal home user, all these features are not necessary.
8. Corporate & government
A lot so of corporate or government are newly migrated to Window XP. If want to upgrade to Vista, they have to spend time and money to provide training to their IT officer to get use to the new OS in order to maintain the system.
9. MCE less surprise
Vista ultimate and Vista home premium are built in with Window Media Center. The new Window Media Center are not much different than the previous Window XP Media Center Edition.
10. New OS
Currently Microsoft is developing new version of Window OS called “Vienna”. Code name for the research is “Blackcomb”. This new version of Window will be schedule to launch on year 2009. If the new version of Window “Vienna” will be available in another 2 years times, then will it be better to wait until the latest Window available than only we upgrade?
Personally the main feature for Vista is much more fancy than Window XP. I still not yet try it, therefore i also cant give any specific review about this OS. Anyway, those who having this Vista, kindly share with us what is your comment for the OS.
