AMD Turion64 X2

Currently the laptop i’m using is running AMD Turion64 X2 mobile processor. Turion64×2 is the strongest mobile processor for AMD. But due to the emerge of Core2Duo from Intel, AMD is losing the notebook market. Therefore, in this year, AMD will come out a upgraded for their mobile processor using the same K8 acthitecture.

Slowly , they will upgrade current revision F to revision G using 65nm technology instead of 90nm. Some more supported memory upgraded to DDR2-800 and added a 100Mhz support to m/c. This make those AMD Socket S1 Rev. F notebook have to upgrade bios than only can support rev.G processor.

As we can see, the changes are minor… Next year onward then only AMD truly come out a s1g2 new socket type for mobile processor.

Hopefully the Rev H processor will have 1MB or more L2 cache…
