My Compaq Presario V3010 ( updated 3d & FPS benchmark )
Finally i brought my 1st notebook in my life ~~~ HP Compaq Presario V3010…^^Yesterday night i paid deposit, this afternoon i went to collect ( luckily dont need to wait long ).
But it took me more than 1 and a half hours to settle the payment…
A young trainee served me and briefed me regarding my notebook… But i knew about the notebook more than him haha.
According to the spec, my notebook suppose to be FreeDos which didnt have any OS installed but they installed a pirated window xp pro & office for me, and make 2 partitions for my hardisk.
Anyway , it did save my time for window OS, but i plan to dual boot my system with window xp & ubuntu linux.
Well, cut the crap… Lets take a look of my notebook spec.

Due to i dont have DC, tomorrow i go borrow from my gf and post some photos regarding the outlook of my notebook.
Just benchmarked my notebook using 3D Mark 03 & FPS to check the gaming speed.

Eventhough the 3d mark result is pretty low, but it still manage to finish the test. My old desktop graphic card Nvidia GeForce 4 MX440 cant even run the test…
For FPS which stand for frame per second, I tested it with my favourite game ~~Dota.
It manage to reach 20 FPS~~~ Which consider smooth inside the game.

December 24, 2006 | 6:01 PMHi Mike! Im just “tipu tipu cari makan”…haha…
Actually for current laptop market, its really hard to choose because the price are almost the same.
For intel platform, u should choose coreduo2.
* Centrino and celeron is the obsolete model, therefore the price are cheaper.
For amd paltform, u should go for turion64x2.
If you ask me which brand is good, then i really cant answer u. But i can tell you that Toshiba always is the best selling brand in PC fair.
For new type of laptops which is equipped with
Below is some simple guide for u to buy what kind of laptop:
1. screen: 12.1/14.1/15.4
* bigger screen means more heavy & power consume
2. ram: recommend min. 512MB ( 1 stick )
* every laptop normally only equipped with 2 ram slot, therefore never get a 2X256MB =512MB.
Take 512MB 1 stick so that u can have a room to upgrade…
For you info Vista need more than 512MB to run
3. graphic: nvidia or ati if you want to have to better graphic, if not just go for intel GMA
4. weight: <2kg , <3kg , >3kg
If u always travel, then lesser weight will be more convenience for u 2 carry
* if u take a 2.4kg laptop, plus the charger & bag, then the weight will be more than 3kg…
5. budget: the most important things have to do before buying…
* I think i should put in to the 1st step? haha
6. Vista rdy: the key component in Vista is its aero3D effect. To check whether your laptop can cope up with this, just go to below ati n amd website to check compatible chipsets

December 25, 2006 | 1:12 PMWell, every retail price for laptop are same, only difference is that what kind of free gift they provide..
I brought from SNS using credit card easy installment… They only give me lousy optical mouse & lock…
How much is your budget?
What is your main purpose using laptop? Gaming or just normal use ?
I can provide you some of the retail price for laptop such as Acer, Toshiba, HP Compaq, HP pavilion, Benq, Lenovo, NEC, Fujitsu…
